ECKANKAR in British Columbia
Eckankar is a world-wide religion with members in over one hundred countries. Eckankar has been active in British Columbia since the 1970's. Throughout the province, local ECK communities provide an array of events for spiritual seekers to come together to share their love for the Divine. ECK events allow people the opportunity to share experiences, to learn from others, and most importantly to know that they are not alone in their journey to truth.
ECK Worship Services are open to the public and offer a chance to celebrate the experience of the Light and Sound of God and share the workings of Divine Spirit (ECK) in your everyday life. Lasting about one hour, services may include music, talks, video/audio clips, stories from the heart, and small group discussion.
Introductory presentations for the general public are events where members of Eckankar share how the ECK teachings have helped them in their lives and how Eckankar may benefit others.
Book discussion classes allow in depth study of an ECK book often spanning several months, enabling participants to focus on specific topics and to discuss how Spirit guides and helps you in your life.
Advanced spiritual study classes come with ECK annual membership. Each class is a year-long discourse written by Sri harold Klemp, the current spiritual leader of ECKANKAR for your personal study. You can study the monthly chapter with others in an ECK Satsang (spiritual study) class to share experiences, insights, and questions, or you can elect to study on your own. The purpose of Satsang is to help each person find their own relationship with Spirit.
Fellowship Events are held in ECK communities throughout the year, including potluck dinners, family campouts, and youth events. Local and regional seminars throughout the province and western states also provide opportunities for members and guests to come together and share experiences on our journey home to God.
